Nike —
Speed Revealed
Capturing velocity in its most powerful and awe-inspired form

Nike —
Speed Revealed
Nike was born from runners. From the company’s original muse and track trailblazer Steve Prefontaine to powerhouse and category-defying Sha’Carri Richardson, Nike reveres and champions its Track & Field players and wanted a campaign that reflected this passion.
We collaborated with Nike to produce larger-than-life expressions of speed, unlocking their storytelling potential, featuring athletes at the height of their game.

The Ask

Nike needed a partner who could capture the explosive speed and emotion for their upcoming Track & Field season, harnessing the power of their Olympic athletes to inspire and galvanize professionals and non-professionals alike.

Story building meets technical expertise
Olympic Track & Field athletes are fast. Like blink and you’ll miss it fast. So how do you capture not only speed in motion, but the heart, emotions, and character that propels speed forward? We knew the story wasn’t just about speed. It’s also about the culmination of experiences that made it possible, and that the most compelling story would be at its intersection.
The Idea
Get the best team, best direction, and best environment in place, so our athletes can just show up do what they do.
Ambition to Mission
We launched our first season with three Olympic athletes, shot putter Tia Brooks, sprinter English Gardner, and hurdler Aries Merritt. Our second season, shot with our same creative team one year later, featured middle-distance runner Clayton Murphy and sprinter Elaine Thompson.

We wanted to capture big moments and big movement. This called for big set pieces, big backdrops, and big lights that could outshine the sun. We also needed a big team to handle our ambitious vision, and the right cast and crew to give us the flexibility to catch our athletes at their most dynamic.
Big Love
"I wish all shoots were that fun!" — Alex Rice, Project Specialist
Setting a high bar
Together with our collaborators, we built a visual narrative system that exemplified best-in-class creative. We brought in legendary photographer Carlos Serraro from our global creator network, and worked closely with Nike Global Creative Director Rebecca Parker to set high standards across every touch point. Our shoots took place on outdoor tracks that we painstakingly scouted for color, orientation, and sun path, and we designed and fabricated custom environments that framed our athletes at their best: intensely focused, powerful, awe-inspiring.

More than just an image
Our collective dedication to this creative vision pushed all of us to work at an Olympic level, leading to photography that unlocked Nike’s storytelling potential.
We captured both action shots and portraits, leading one of our subjects to see her portrait and tear up, saying that she had never seen herself that powerful and beautiful. Representing people and their stories is why we exist, and this project exemplified this craft to the highest standard — moving people and culture forward.
