Champs —
Sports for Life
Recharging Champs with a campaign to connect sport to everyday life

Champs —
Sports for Life
Sportswear transcends the professional stage, integrating into our daily lives as part of American culture. Who doesn’t have lived-in sweats and dad sneakers and their go-to zip-up track jacket?
We partnered with Champs to create a series of campaign videos featuring athletes that carry sportswear into their everyday, authentic expression of fashion, sport, and identity through the lens of personal style and personal routines.

The Ask

Create a scalable campaign with a unified look, feel, and narrative, inspiring audiences by featuring star athletes in their everyday lives.

Finding a unique, scalable style
Beyond just showcasing Champs sportswear, we wanted to tell a story, one that connects to our audience and inspires them to define their own “sport for life.” Our approach focused on capturing authentic moments in the lives of five athletes, creating scenarios around their daily routines and environments. From location scouting and writing interviews, to creative story finding and development, our work set the standard and the goalposts for a project with a lot of moving parts.
The Idea
Showcase Champs as a cultural storyteller - not just a store - with a series of videos featuring real athletes in their everyday routines, humanizing their larger-than-life personas through a relatable, more personal approach.
We collaborated with a ton of different stakeholders: Champs, the creative agency Cinco, the featured athlete and their teams, and the sportswear brands themselves, including the likes of New Balance and Adidas. Crafting a clear and cohesive vision was essential to a seamless process, streamlined with strategic execution and creative guardrails.

We also met our athletes where they were to ensure we captured them at their most comfortable, most true selves. This led production travel to places like New York to capture Francisco Lindor, the shortstop for the NY Mets, and Miami to capture Micah Parsons, a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. And when your director is also a former athlete, it provides a mutual respect and understand of the medium and the message.
Big Love
Story first
We navigated complex logistics that involved personal storylines for five different athletes, making them feel authentic and true to each person and location. Paying attention to each shoot’s nuances, while actively adapting and problem-solving on the move, ensures that the stories are always being protected and respected — that the vision is clear, considered, and compelling. And that the work adds immense value to the client and culture.

Transforming complexity into clarity
Executing against complexity is our happy place — we thrive when we can contribute clarity, strategic insight, and impactful stories that move brands forward.
This campaign’s success, which featured 3 athletes across 3 shoots with multiple stakeholders and partners, led to winning Champs’ holiday campaign.
