Level —

Life at Every Level

Life is complex. Leaks happen, work runs late, you miss a package. Whether you’re an individual navigating life, or a building manager handling 100s of unpredictable situations, the little things can add up to major overwhelm.

Level, the company behind the smartest smart home locks, has the innovation to make life easier, but they didn’t know how to make these tools, well, relatable. We partnered with them to craft a story that let people know that Level provides peace-of-mind no matter what life throws at you.

The Ask

Level engineered remarkable technology that helps people do all the life things better. But they needed to connect to their audience in a compelling and engaging way.

Unlocking the audience mindset

We were speaking to three audience segments for our campaign: building owners, building manager, and tenants. From stakeholder interviews to market research, we found that while their needs may be distinct, all three shared a similar mindset when it came to smart lock technology. They wanted it to make their lives tangibly easier, not just tech for tech’s sake.

The Idea

Show that we understand everyday pain points, and that Level is there to make life easier.

Leading with empathy

In order to humanize Level’s technology, we took our strategic insights to concept a “day-in-the-life” narrative, using live-action to illustrate real people and real problems. Our narrative was designed to be instantly relatable, forging connection to individuals and managers alike.

In a single video, we met the distinct needs of our audience segments, emphasizing how Level simplifies operations, reduces cost, and enhances property appeal for managers and owners, while highlighting the convenience and luxury of keyless entry, smart thermostats, and seamless package delivery for tenants. This introduced Level as a comprehensive platform that delivers across multiple key features and benefits.

Big Love

A cinematic approach

Leveraging our storytelling expertise and filmmaking capabilities, we created a “mini film” to transport our audience in the way only cinema can. To build instant connection, we featured characters and scenarios that were deeply relatable, presenting them in a world without Level, and one where Level prevents the little hiccups that can derail a day.

Stories that travel the world

We created a core narrative for the brand, one that was rooted in human need, which developed a seamless connection between product and message, brand and audience.

Our work helped audiences realize the power of Level’s technology - one that gets what you actually need to simplify your every day.
