Amazon —
Worldwide Sustainability
A scalable system to support Amazon’s global sustainability initiatives

Amazon —
Worldwide Sustainability
Climate change is one of humanity’s most critical and complex problems. It’s something we take seriously at Revery. When Amazon needed a partner to help them strategize and execute storytelling that supported their sustainability efforts, we saw an opportunity where our expertise and values aligned with their mission.

The Ask

Amazon wanted to define a distinct storytelling style and create a robust photo library to showcase their sustainability efforts across their global business operations.

1 vision, 1 team
How do we visually represent complex sustainability initiatives in a compelling way? One that’s both engaging and honest? How do we tell a sustainability story that instills a sense of global climate responsibility without feeling self-congratulatory or preachy? Sustainability isn’t just about systems and policies — it’s driven by the people behind the innovations, whose stories bring Amazon’s environmental efforts to life.
The Idea
Show the global scale of Amazon’s sustainability efforts, while featuring real employees in action to bring humanity into focus.
Ambition to Mission
In collaboration with Amazon’s creative director and art director, we developed a strategic art direction that was flexible enough to scale, yet had a precise point-of-view for capturing the look and feel for representing their mission with purpose. From wide, arial shots to incorporating personal messages from Amazon employees, the direction set the standard for telling a story of sustainability in action.

Why in action? We wanted to show how Amazon’s commitment to sustainability was more than a promise — and we can show that through deeds, not words, showing real people doing real work to combat climate change. Cracking this approach allowed us to craft the right shots, and set the bar for all future productions.
Big Love
We emphasized authentic storytelling over staged imagery. By embedding ourselves within real operations, we created a proprietary photo library that highlights the individuals driving these initiatives, making sustainability feel both personal and impactful.
Curating Amazon’s sustainability story
With the art direction setting the foundation, we moved into story curation phase, identifying the places, people, and work we wanted to highlight. Executing against our own guidelines, we produced a collection of photo assets for use across business needs.

The future of sustainable storytelling
This project was the next chapter of Amazon’s effort to share their sustainability initiatives with the world, starting with our collaboration on their “Beyond the Box” campaign.
We’re proud to continue deepening our relationship with Amazon and helping them unlock their storytelling potential across multiple touch points.
